Fantastic food! I was able to get a larger portion of Wagyu for a promotional price, plus a free rice refill. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The waiter explained every detail of each item included in the dish I chose, which was perfect for a first-timer in the country. Highly recommended!

The place is small. They have B1 and level 1 seating. There’s another branch that they option that is 2mins walk away. As they don’t take reservations, you have to queue to go in. Melt in your mouth Gyukatsu and price is good. They only have 3 choices- S, M or L. A lot of people chose L as the beef is really tender. Highly recommend

It is deserving of its 4.8 rating. I reached at 3pm and queued for 30 mins for our counter seats for 4 pax. Conveniently located near Asakusa Subway Station. The staff took the initiative to take my order while I was in the queue. The food was delicious! Aromatic, succulent and tender meat. A lovely deep beefy favour. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We loved it! A bit of a wait to get in. We came about 1:30ish pm on a Sunday and there were maybe 5 people in front of lined up. Not bad. We waited maybe 30 or so minutes before getting and being seated in their upstairs dining room. The restaurant is small, but laid out well and there were actually quite a few people dining. We were so excited for BEEF Katsu and the menu looked mouth watering. We went with beef tongue and the Wagyu. The beef tongue was just ok, didn't love it. It was good, but a little tougher than we were hoping. Good flavor though. I would pass on this next time for sure. The Wagyu on the other hand was sooooo delicious! We loved it. My only complaint is that I couldn't eat it faster since you have to cook each individual piece on their little candle heated cook top on the table lol. But that's fine. Each piece was tender, fatty and crispy. Really really tasty. The Wagyu was so good that we ordered a second round of it and enjoyed another round. This spot is definitely one of the food highlights form our time in Tokyo and I would highly recommend waiting in the line and getting the Wagyu! We also had a couple of their Wagyu Katsu bite or balls or whatever they're called. Fatty, nice texture and also very delicious. I could have eaten several of those too.

Saitou chef was amazing!!! The food was so good. The meat was melting in my mouth and all the sides were just so rich to give the experience more taste. The line was really big to wait but it is totally worth! The space is small inside but it just make the experience more unique and special! I had the small portion and it was more then enough, but i would probably get more just because the meat was unbelievable delicious!

I first stumbled upon Asakusa Gyukatsu on Google and was struck by the sheer volume of reviews—over 11,000. After dining here today, I now understand why it’s so highly praised. Although we queued for about 45 minutes, the wait was absolutely worthwhile. The experience of grilling the beef to your preferred doneness is uniquely enjoyable, and the meat itself is exceptionally tender—delicious even without the accompanying dips. Service was prompt and efficient throughout. A memorable dining experience, and certainly one I look forward to returning to on my next visit.

This wagyu beef cutlet set is a stunning example of precision and indulgence—a perfect marriage of craftsmanship and flavor. Each slice of the beef cutlet is golden and crisp on the outside, yet reveals a tender pink interior that glows with the promise of melt-in-your-mouth richness. The breading is delicate, never greasy, allowing the natural juiciness of the beef to shine through with every bite. What makes this experience truly special is the ritual of eating. The small grill keeps the cutlet warm and lets diners finish each piece to their preferred doneness—whether lightly seared or more thoroughly cooked. Each bite can be paired differently: with soy sauce for umami depth, with ponzu for refreshing acidity, or with wasabi for a gentle heat that lifts the flavor to new heights. Every combination tells a different story, from earthy to bright, from subtle to bold. The accompaniments complete the harmony of textures and tastes. The fluffy white rice, topped with creamy grated yam, adds a smooth, slightly viscous contrast that complements the beef’s richness. The shredded cabbage and potato salad bring balance and lightness, refreshing the palate between bites. Even the soup, simple yet clear, serves as a quiet interlude that enhances the overall rhythm of the meal. This wagyu cutlet set is more than a dish—it’s a meditative dining experience. Every detail, from the sizzle of the stone grill to the tender resistance of the beef, celebrates the Japanese philosophy of kodawari—the pursuit of perfection through patience and respect for ingredients. A truly exceptional meal that lingers in both taste and memory.
